IBIA will be exhibiting, many of its board members and members are speaking as leading industry experts and IBIA will be holding high level meetings to discuss bunker industry issues, most notably IBIA’s Port Charter. IBIA will be meeting senior management from all of the leading bunker ports in Singapore on Tuesday 4 October to discuss the wider adoption of the IBIA Port Charter, a proposal for best practice guidelines standing for quality, quantity and transparency in all forms. SIBCON attracts more than 1600 participants from more than 70 countries. IBIA’s expert speakers at the conference include current IBIA chairman Robin Meech and past IBIA chairman Jens Maul Jorgensen, director of bunker, Oldendorff Carriers. The IBIA in Asia executive committee will be represented by Capt Rahul Choudhuri, managing director, VPS, Danny Chua, senior partner, Joseph Tan Jude Benny and Timothy Cosulich, managing director, Fratelli Cosulich as well as IBIA in Asia’s regional manager Simon Neo. Peter Hall will be at SIBCON welcoming any members or bunker industry professionals to join him on the IBIA stand – Stand 62 - to discuss industry issues ranging from the current trade and environment challenges, fuel quality issues, managing uncertainty in the lead up to the global sulphur cap and key milestones to manage the transition, combating fraud through best practice, and IBIA’s standard operating procedures (SOP) for surveyors during bunkerings using mass flow meters. Peter Hall says; “Singapore is an important location for our members, and IBIA is focused on delivering responsive advice and services to our growing membership base across the region. With this in mind, we recently moved to larger offices in Singapore to increase our popular courses on bunkering and SOP for bunker surveyors.
