Israel barred the entry of Palestinian agricultural produce from the West Bank beginning Sunday morning, in retaliation for a months-long Palestinian Authority ban on importing Israeli calves.

The Palestinian ban is part of Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh’s campaign to disengage economically from Israel. Israeli farmers have said they’ve suffered financial losses as a result.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense, which controls borders, said the Israeli ban will be reconsidered if the Palestinian Authority lifts its restrictions.
