Johnson Equipment, a leading provider of repair and maintenance services for tractor-trailer fleets and medium- and light-duty vehicles, is celebrating Technician Ken Myers for winning the Grand Championship at the Trucking Association of New York’s SuperTech Competition. Johnson Equipment is a subsidiary of Leonard’s Express, a leading transportation services provider offering refrigerated trucking, dry van, warehousing and freight brokerage services.
Myers took first place in the written exam, coolant and DEF, and electrical systems on his way to being named the overall winner and Grand Champion. “We are fortunate to have such skilled technicians at Johnson Equipment and proud to have Ken recognized by a premier organization like TANY,” said Leonard’s Express CEO Ken Johnson. “Ken Myers and the team at Johnson Equipment keep our drivers safe and our trucks on the road, which is key to our success. Congratulations to Ken on this outstanding achievement!”
After placing second last year, Myers was thrilled to return in 2023 to claim the top prize. “It feels amazing to win after coming so close last year,” said Myers. “The competition gets tougher every year. The technicians at Johnson Equipment are such a skilled group and we push ourselves to get better every day to keep our trucks on the road. I’m proud of the work we put in. It’s exciting to show our skills and be recognized for our hard work.”
Myers is now eligible to compete in the National Technician Skills Competition hosted by the American Trucking Association’s Technology and Maintenance Council. The event will take place September 17-21 at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
