KVH Industries, Inc. has announced Endpoint Secure and Network Secure, two new cybersecurity packages for the CommBox Edge Pro (previously Edge 6) platform, are now available to commercial and leisure vessels. Delivered via the CommBox Edge Pro appliance, the packages help protect workstations and networks with enterprise-grade security using the appliance already onboard.
Vessels are now connecting at speeds that rival the shore office, and every connection is a potential cybersecurity risk. Workstations that open email, accept USB drives, and run software that may not have been patched in months are exposed in the same way as any shore-side network. With CommBox Edge Pro now offering expanded new security packages, KVH is giving operators a practical way to bridge the gap between SD-WAN support and fully managed IT services while keeping the customer in control.

Network Secure includes everything in Endpoint Secure, and adds intrusion detection and prevention running on the CommBox Edge Pro appliance itself, plus advanced DNS-layer filtering designed to block malicious and unwanted content before it reaches a business device.
Both packages are available to existing and new CommBox Edge Pro users via a subscription upgrade, which can be delivered over the air.
KVH's CommBox Edge Pro enhances the vessel's modern multi-network, multi-channel connectivity with firewall, segmentation, and SD-WAN standard on every license. When the operation demands more, Endpoint Secure and Network Secure packages scale the platform into a service-in-a-box that delivers enterprise-level security, protection, and control on the platform operators already trust. Operators needing custom policies, remediation, compliance-ready reporting, or 24/7 monitored response can move to KVH Managed IT Services.
