MOL PLUS Co., Ltd. today announced its decision to invest in T2 Inc., a developer and provider of hub-to-hub transportation services using autonomous trucks.

Japan’s domestic logistics industry is facing shortage of truck drivers, and addressing this issue has become a critical challenge. Guided by its vision of “supporting Japan’s logistics together through autonomous driving technology,” T2 aims to launch hub-to-hub transportation services in 2027 or later using Level 4 autonomous trucks. In addition to developing autonomous driving systems, the company also operates its own transportation business, advancing the real-world deployment of autonomous logistics.

MOL PLUS has decided to make this investment in order to work alongside the T2 team as it tackles the logistics industry’s most pressing real-world challenges head-on with practical solutions. MOL PLUS will contribute to business development in tangible ways by drawing on its expertise in the ocean shipping industry.
