Bringing smiles to children in famine-stricken regions
TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Junichiro Ikeda) today announced that it provided ocean transport of canned bread, “Kyu-Can-Cho”, to South Africa with no charge, as part of the “Kyu-Can-Cho Project” (*) arranged by Pan Akimoto Co., Ltd. in cooperation with Hokuetsu Corporation.
MOL has provided transport service for this project since 2015, and has transported four shipments in all, totaling about 5,000 cases (about 75,000 cans).
MOL takes a proactive stance in social contribution activities that are unique to an ocean transport company with a global network.
