The Panama Canal’s success in 2018 was marked by milestones achieved together with the industry. The Panama Canal closed fiscal year 2018 with a record, welcoming 442.1 million Panama Canal tons (PC/UMS), the highest annual cargo tonnage in our 104-year history. In between, they welcomed massive new vessels and strengthened our international maritime service with the increase of Neopanamax reservations.
The Panama Canal plans to continue to bring value to the maritime industry by ensuring that the Panama Canal remains a reliable, efficient and valuable route for their customers.
