Pemamek has won the MSV 2026 Gold Medal in the Technology Trade Fairs category for PEMA Scan, its adaptive laser groove scanning for robotic multi-pass welding. Selected from 30 competing exhibits, Pemamek’s innovation stood out among the 16 total finalists chosen across all competition categories.

Prepared joints in heavy fabrication rarely match the drawing. PEMA Scan measures the real groove first, shows it to the operator, then fills it.

The software turns the scanned profile into a filling plan: passes, bead placement, torch angle, travel speed and weaving all follow the actual cross-section. Deviations from cutting, forming, assembly and tack welding are absorbed by the plan, not corrected by the operator mid-weld.

PEMA Scan runs within PEMA WeldControl™, the software behind every PEMA robotic welding station.

The evaluation committee, chaired by doc. Jiří Hlinka, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Brno University of Technology, cited the software's ability to fit each weld to the real joint geometry, raising both productivity and weld quality.

PEMA Scan is already in daily production use at customer sites, in applications such as pressure vessel nozzles, dumper bodies and trailer frames.

"We are honored to receive this medal. For us, the best part is that it went to a product already in daily production use at our customers' sites. With PEMA Scan, the robot welds the groove that is actually there, not the one in the model," says Miroslav Trávníček, Sales Director, Czech Republic and Slovakia, at Pemamek. "Thank you to the team behind PEMA Scan, and to our customers who use it in production every day."
