Invests in International, E-Commerce and Logistics Markets

LIMA, Pa. - Pilot Freight Services (Pilot), a worldwide provider of transportation and logistics services, announces record breaking Q4 2017 revenues and their enhanced efforts in international sales and operations, e-commerce and logistics. Pilot reached $639 million in revenue in 2017, after ending the year with back-to-back record months. December revenues topped $65 million, marking the most profitable month in the history of the company. Overall revenues for the year were up 10 percent, with diversified gains across all categories.

“For the second month in a row, every Pilot product line saw double digit growth,” says John Hill, president and chief commercial officer. “In 2018, we expect our international product, driven by our new leadership team, will dominate our growth pattern, with e-commerce and logistics being strong vehicles for progress, as well,” he says.

Pilot’s increased global focus simplifies shipping, increases visibility and compliance with international freight forwarding, global trade management and customs clearance services. The company has made significant investments in training and communications systems to support global sales and operations teams. International focus will also include providing clients the ability to regulate their purchase order (PO) management and compliance. Pilot’s PO management increases transparency with real time control and processing of sales and purchase transactions. Pilot’s international growth will foster customer relationships, especially in the maritime, chemical, apparel and tech industries.

While the fraction of global purchasing done online still remains relatively small, Pilot sees an enormous opportunity to continue expanding in this vertical and provide even greater service and flexibility to its e-commerce customers. Pilot is working to create more expedited shipping solutions for its e-commerce business, both locally and nationally, with faster delivery times and more transparency through the shipping process. All of this is backed by their local customer service and national 24/7 customer service support.

As a value-added service provider, Pilot remains focused on logistics solutions as an extension of their business and is pleased to bring decades of knowledge and resources in logistics and transportation to continue serving clients from all angles. Building more multi-client warehouse facilities, like the one recently opened Piscataway, NJ and soon-to-open Las Vegas facility, is a strategic addition to Pilot’s strong domestic and global network of stations that move freight throughout the world.
