FREEPORT, TX – During the November 29th meeting, the Port Commission and staff presented a check in the amount of $52,880 to Bobby Fuller, Director of Texas Port Ministry from the proceeds of the Annual Port Freeport Golf Tournament held October 22, 2018 at The Wilderness Golf Course in Lake Jackson. Located in Freeport, Texas Port Ministry has provided spiritual, social, and physical care to the Freeport Harbor Community since 1974.

“The services provided by Texas Port Ministry are important to the well-being of seafarers that live and work on ships calling the terminals located on the Freeport Harbor Channel. As the Port continues to expand, the need for their services grows as well.  We are honored to have hosted another successful tournament for their benefit through the generosity of our Port partners, as well as local businesses within the navigation district,” said Port Freeport Executive Director/CEO Phyllis Saathoff.

The 7th Annual Port Freeport Golf Tournament proceeds will assist Texas Port Ministry in providing services to mariners and truckers that come into contact with the Freeport Harbor Channel community.
