Hundreds of logistics, trade, and maritime professionals will attend the Virginia Maritime Association’s (VMA) 15th Annual International Trade Symposium, three days of programs are scheduled for May 9-11 at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott.

The International Trade Symposium is the East Coast’s premier conference addressing the topics most affecting port operations and cargo logistics.

This year, 20+ panelists will address “Trends and Disruptors in Global Logistics,” featuring keynote speakers Pete Mento, Vice President Global Trade and Managed Services, Crane Worldwide, and John Reinhart, CEO and Executive Director of the Virginia Port Authority.

In the evening following the panels, the 98th Annual Maritime Banquet, the Symposium’s most popular networking event, will draw in nearly 1,000 guests who will hear from banquet speaker, The Honorable Ralph Northam, 73rd Governor of Virginia.
The Annual Banquet also serves as the setting to award the annual VMA Port Champion and Distinguished Service Awards. This year’s recipients include: Port Champion- Capt. Richard Wester, USCG-Sector Hampton Roads and COL. Jason Kelly, USACE-Norfolk District. Distinguished Service Award will be revealed that evening, with Press releases to follow.

The Symposium program also includes a Maritime Mixer, networking cruise on the Spirit of Norfolk, Wednesday May 9, hosted with the Norfolk Propeller Club, and a Maritime Golf Outing at Bay Creek Resort & Club the morning of Friday May 11.
