The Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry is expected to mark up the farm bill next week.

According to AgWeb, Chairman Pat Roberts and Ranking Member Debbie Stabenow announced the Committee will hold the meeting on June 13, 2018. The proposed bill could be released sometime this week.

Last week, the American Soybean Association (ASA) signed onto a letter to Senate Ag Committee Chairman Pat Roberts and Ranking Member Debbie Stabenow, commending their ag leadership and urging swift movement on the farm bill. Read the full letter here.

ASA continues to reiterate the importance of passing a farm bill this year, and urges board members and state affiliates to stress this during meetings and calls with your Members of Congress, and through the Soy Action Center, as the legislative process moves forward in June.
