As the truck driver strike continues to exacerbate congestion at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach as well as at intermodal rail yards that dispatch cargo to and from warehouses and distribution centers across America, a majority of marine terminals at the Port of Los Angeles have turned away struck trucks. The only marine terminal allowing striking companies to work is ITS located at the Port of Long Beach. Last night, drivers from Pacific 9 Transportation (Pac 9) voted to end their strike and return to work, because of progress in confidential discussions between the Teamsters and the company facilitated by the office of Mayor Eric Garcetti. No retaliation for concerted union activity has been reported by Pac 9 drivers thus far. Primary picketing continues at company yards, and ambulatory picketing of trucks of struck companies continues at marine terminals and rail yards.
