Magnum Trailer and Equipment Inc. of Abbotsford, British Columbia announces further success with the RMM AUCOSystem at Long Beach Container Terminal (LBCT). In 2015, LBCT became the first major adopter of the revolutionary AUCOSystem with goals of improving yard tractor operator safety, and finding ways to improve port performance by increasing throughput using their existing fleet of yard tractors and bomb carts.  “We’ve worked with Magnum for a few years now to adopt this technology, and we’re very pleased with the results thus far. So much so, we’ve recently ordered an additional 26 new bomb carts built and equipped with AUCOS from Magnum. In just 18 months of commercial operations using the system, we have found the safety and throughput benefits simply terrific, and are happy that we had room to add more trailers using the same fleet of yard tractors. The payback for us was quick; less than a year”, says Jim Jacobs, GM Maintenance & Repair, LBCT. “Magnum has been a great partner from the concept stage, through to commissioning the system. They’ve been with us every step of the way”, says Jacobs. Magnum is proud of this win for LBCT, and is now in the manufacturing process of the new AUCOS-Bomb cart order. Delivery and commissioning is expected to be in the fall of 2017. “This has been a tremendous learning experience for all involved”, say Mel Wubs, Vice President of Trailers & Engineering, at Magnum.” LBCT was the first major user of AUCOS anywhere in the world, and our first customer for the system. Working together we found a way, and now the team at Magnum is both happy the system works so well, and proud that LBCT has shown confidence in Magnum’s know-how in manufacturing by awarding us with yet another bomb cart order. Magnum is in the solutions business, and we look forward to LBCT’s continued success using the AUCOSystem.”
