The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) - the only organization exclusively representing transportation intermediaries of all disciplines doing business in domestic and international commerce – welcomed three new Board of Directors members during its Capital Ideas Conference in Phoenix.

David Abell, CTB, president & CEO of AM Transport Services in Olney, Ill.; Rob Hooper, Jr., CEO of Atlantic Logistics, LLC in Jacksonville, Fla.; and Mike Williams, owner and president of Jacksonville, Fla., were elected by the TIA membership to represent them on the Board of Directors.

"We are excited to welcome David, Rob and Mike to the Board and look forward to their contributions to helping shape the future of TIA," said TIA Chair of the Board Mark Christos.

David Abell, CTB, has been elected to represent the Small Member category. Abell is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the logistics industry. With a background as a former Army engineer, David's journey in logistics began in technology, where he honed his skills before transitioning into roles in marketing and sales. His ascent to CEO reflects his strategic vision and leadership prowess, driving the company forward in the dynamic logistics landscape.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Abell is committed to lifelong learning and community engagement. He shares his expertise by teaching a business class at the local community college, fostering the growth of future industry leaders.

Rob Hooper, Jr. represents the Medium Member category. In 2003, Hooper returned to their family-owned logistics business, which was started by his parents in 2001, and learned the business from the ground up and became the CEO in 2008. Hooper has been involved with TIA since 2007 and currently is chairman of the Government Freight Committee. He has spoken at numerous conferences and events on the subject of logistics and autonomous trucks including CSCMP, TIA Technovations, and the 3rd annual European Autonomous Truck conference in Dusseldorf, Germany. In addition to serving on the TIA Board, Hooper also serves on the board of 6:8 Ministries, the Federal Reserve Advisory Council and has served on board of the First Coast Manufacturers Association (FCMA) and on the Florida DOT Freight Advisory Council.

Mike Williams represents the Large Member category. Williams has more than 25 years of combined legal and executive management experience in the field of North American freight transportation and logistics, including freight agent platform development and operations. In June 2016, Williams launched AGX Freight with a goal to build a high performing freight agent platform designed to serve non-asset-based motor carrier and freight broker independent professionals. He is a member of the Florida Bar in good standing since June 1995, Transportation Lawyers Association, and the American Society for Transportation and Logistics. He received a Certification in Transportation and Logistics in June 2015 from the University of North Florida.

"I look forward to working with David, Rob and Mike as we continue to advocate for the 3PL industry," said Anne Reinke, president & CEO of TIA. "These gentlemen represent the best of the best within the industry and will help guide our association into the future."
