Established on 1st October 1992 as an international air carrier connecting the Kiev-Boryspil hub with crucial destinations in Western Europe, Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) has evolved into one of the key players among eastern airlines, operating 1,100 international and domestic flights per week and providing connections to 38 countries in Europe, Asia, America, Africa, and the Middle East. In 2018, UIA’s successful and fast-growing PAX and cargo divisions will further expand their services and implement state-of-the-art e-business and digitalisation strategies.

Since its inception in 1993, UIA CARGO has been able to establish its reputation as a premium provider of airfreight services for mail as well as fresh, live, and valuable commodities. In 2016, UIA carried 11,127,284 kg of cargo, including food, seafood, flowers, medical products and equipment, animals, machine components, spare parts, clothes, and valuables. “Currently, we are significantly expanding our capacities: In 2018, we will add four new B777-200ER aircraft to our fleet, which will operate the route to Israel and replace the B767-300 on routes to the US, China, and Thailand. There will also be new, additional services to India, Egypt, and Canada. And the available space for cargo and mail on our PAX services will increase by 39 % compared to 2017”, says Peter Kukharchuk, Director Cargo & Mail at Ukraine International Airlines.

UIA Cargo – dynamically adapting to worldwide customer demands

“Looking back at 25 years of Ukraine International Airlines, I am particularly proud of our extraordinary quality standards and proven flexibility in adapting to new market requirements. The ardent commitment of our young teams and dedicated partners helped to shape the commercial and operational DNA of our enterprise”, explains Peter Kukharchuk. “ However, our ongoing success is also partly due to our longstanding partnership with ECS Group, one of the largest integrated GSSAs worldwide. With its competent and dynamic workforce and its large network of offices and subsidiaries in more than 47 countries, ECS Group has significantly contributed to the healthy growth of our international business.”

Preparing for the digital future

With its modern and efficient infrastructure, Ukraine International Airlines is ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow: UIA’s agenda for the next few years not only comprises the ongoing synchronization of business processes and partnerships within the airline’s extended supplier network, but also new e-commerce concepts to provide an easy and customer-friendly access to its entire range of logistics products.

Ukraine International Airlines (UIA), one of the first Ukrainian joint ventures involving foreign investors, started operations on 25th November 1992 with a passenger flight from Kiev to London. As from 13th November 1994, UIA also offered cargo services on routes to London and Amsterdam. Since then, UIA has dynamically expanded its route network as

well as its aircraft fleet in order to serve an increasing number of destinations worldwide with sophisticated passenger and cargo transportation solutions. Peter Kukharchuk is very glad about UIA’s current development: “I am looking forward to further strengthen the reputation of UIA as one of the world’s leading providers of premium air transportation services.”
