As it celebrates its 100th anniversary in business, customs brokerage and logistics leader Willson International is excited to announce its recent expansion into Alberta.

Willson, a fourth-generation, family-owned and operated company that has been helping clients navigate cross-border trade between Canada and the United States since 1918, now has brokerage and logistics account executives servicing Edmonton and Calgary. They are supported by staff across Canada.
“Alberta is economically important to Canada and is a great fit for our continued growth and expansion across the country,” says Chairman and CEO Peter Willson, whose Great Grandfather William Willson founded the company. “Willson has expertise in many sectors in which Alberta excels: agri-food, chemicals, manufacturing and industrial machinery.”
When it got its start a century ago, Willson International had a single location in Fort Erie, Ont., serving ferries that made the short trip across the Niagara River between Ontario and Buffalo, NY. Today, the company still has an office in Fort Erie, but it’s headquartered in Mississauga and has several offices at major gateways along the Canada-US border, including Ontario, British Columbia, New York and Michigan.
Using real-time and innovative technology tools, web portals and expertly trained client service specialists, Willson serves a wide variety of time-sensitive and logistically complex businesses, including the food, steel, produce, floral and automotive sectors, among others.
“Investment in technology plays a role improving both the customer experience and business productivity,” Willson said. “Like Alberta, we have the courage to invest and take calculated risks. And like Alberta, we have the grit to keep investing, despite global uncertainty.”
Willson said the firm looks forward to helping Alberta importers and exporters better serve their customers.
