Chapman Freeborn Airchartering is delighted to announce the appointment of Gavin-jon Deeks as president of its US operation.

Gavin-jon will oversee the global aircraft charter specialist's cargo and passenger teams, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with representatives across the US.

Gavin-jon, who was previously Chapman Freeborn's vice president of sales and marketing in the US for three years, takes over from Carol Norman who was recently appointed deputy chairman of the group.

Prior to joining the US team in 2007, Gavin was director of sales for five years at Chapman Freeborn's global headquarters.

In a career spanning more than two decades, Gavin-jon has also held commercial positions at Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa, Antonov Design Bureau and GFX.

Welcoming Gavin-jon to the role, Carol Norman said:
'I'm delighted to be handing over the reins to Gavin-jon.' He has already proved himself capable of driving forward our business and I am confident he will build on the strong performance of our US operation.'

Chapman Freeborn continues to enjoy excellent results in the US, with increased demand bucking the recession.

Building on the momentum from the second half of 2009, the company is enjoying a highly impressive start to 2010 with revenues from January and February totalling $8.9 million.

Chapman Freeborn has 32 offices in 22 countries across five continents. The company coordinated more than 5,000 cargo and passenger charters last year.
