As from the beginning of April 2013, Cyrill Gaechter has been appointed as the new Country Manager of Gebr'der Weiss Air & Sea Switzerland. As such, he is responsible for GW's country-wide air and sea freight business. The experienced 43-year-old is based at the airport Zurich terminal and will report directly to Harald Kostial, Gebr'der Weiss Air & Sea Regional Director West. 'With Cyrill Gaechter, we have gained an expert who is perfectly suited for this position,' says Kostial. 'With him in our team, we will pursuit the ambitions of GW on the Swiss market.'
Gaechter has a profound knowledge of the logistics industry and brings more than 25 years of experience in the transport business to the job. Over the last 18 years he has held various positions at Panalpina, including Shanghai Business Unit Manager and, most recently, Head of the Marketing & Sales department for the Black and Caspian Sea region. 'After staying in Central and Eastern Asia for several years, I'm looking forward to return to my homeland and move onto new tasks. From Zurich, we want to expand our market position in Switzerland,' says the forwarding and logistics expert.
New location in Bern
Gebr'der Weiss is expanding its own network in Switzerland: in May 2013, the company is opening a new Air & Sea location in the capital of Bern. The new branch ' the tenth in Switzerland ' will be headed by Fiorella Orsetti and is going to offer the full service portfolio of Gebr'der Weiss CH: apart from air and sea freight, this includes land transport as well as individual logistics solutions with the proven Gebr'der Weiss quality.
