Dr. Roland Sch'tz (42) is taking over as Chief Information Officer at Lufthansa Cargo AG with effect from November. Dr. Sch'tz, currently Chief Operating Officer Infrastructure Services at Lufthansa Systems succeeds Silke Lehnhardt (46). After 22 years at the Lufthansa Group, she is moving to a new post as Senior Vice President IT Finance, HR and Group Headquarters at Deutsche Telekom AG.

"A genuine Lufthanseat is leaving the Company," commented Peter Gerber, Board Member Finance and Human Resources, to whom Silke Lehnhardt reports in her position as Chief Information Officer. "In the 22 years, in which she has served Lufthansa, she has occupied an influential role in shaping the Company." A business management graduate, Silke Lehnhardt was responsible during her time at the Company for developing and implementing the group-wide Intranet as well as the Lufthansa School of Business. As Chief Information Officer at Lufthansa Cargo over the past five years, Silke Lehnhardt was responsible for IT, worldwide. "The Lufthansa Group is deeply indebted to Silke Lehnhardt for her excellent work. She has earned a big thank-you," said Peter Gerber. "We wish her every good fortune and success at her new post."

The new CIO at Lufthansa Cargo, Dr. Roland Sch'tz, is taking up his post on 1 November. Dr. Sch'tz has a doctorate in physics and, since November 2005, has been Chief Operating Officer Infrastructure Services at Lufthansa Systems. He previously held diverse, senior positions at Fiducia IT AG. "I am delighted that Dr. Roland Sch'tz, a recognised IT expert, is joining us as the new Chief Information Officer," Peter Gerber emphasised. "With his extensive industry know-how and knowledge of the Lufthansa Group, he is ideally equipped to oversee ongoing and purposeful development of our IT processes."
