Guaranteed capacity access to benefit both airlines' customersLufthansa Cargo and Swiss WorldCargo have concluded a comprehensive capacity agreement under which each airline can make use of selected cargo capacity on the partner airline's network. The accord guarantees each partner a certain amount of cargo capacity on each of the other partner's flights. Effective December 1, 2005 Lufthansa Cargo will guarantee customers of Swiss World Cargo capacity on flights from Frankfurt to Shanghai, Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Madras and Tehran. Lufthansa Cargo customers can already make use of Swiss WorldCargo capacity on the Zurich-Frankfurt, Karachi-Zurich and Montreal-Zurich routes. "This agreement shows how rapidly we are putting our collaboration into practice," says Andreas Otto, Member of the Lufthansa Cargo Executive Board and Head of Marketing & Sales. "And over the next few months, we'll be unveiling further actions we are taking to provide our customers with an enhanced product and services portfolio." "We are delighted to be able to offer our customers an expanded network of services to Asia from December 1," adds Oliver Evans, Chief Cargo Officer of SWISS. "And we are working together on exploiting further immediate-gain synergies - especially through sharing capacities, providing reciprocal network access and conducting joint purchasing activities."
