Bremen, Germany - Germany

8th Cool Logistics Global

The world of perishable logistics is not standing still. New developments may be harder to discern and new trends are becoming more difficult to track. But let’s face it, the volume and the value of (some) perishable products is still showing an upward trend. Notwithstanding weaknesses in world trade and industry-specific problems within the container shipping sector, people have to eat. Simply seen as a function of pure arithmetic, more people in the world will consume more food and demand more goods that need a fully functioning cold chain now and into the future. In Germany alone the cold chain generates 14 bill Euro and the landmass of Europe as whole remains the most important market for a number of perishable products, including fruit, vegetables, seafood, meat, confectionery, prepared foods and pharmaceutical products.
