Air Transport World (ATW) reveals the top winners of the 52nd annual ATW Airline Industry Achievement Awards, including Airline of the Year honoree LATAM Airlines.

The ATW Airline Industry Achievement Awards recognize excellence across airline and airport operations and are widely considered the most coveted in the air transport industry.

Chile-based LATAM, was selected for the top Award for its strong financial performance, innovative management leadership, importance in enabling air connectivity growth within Latin America and globally, its commitment to sustainability and commanding air cargo operations.

Other award recipients include: Peter Foster (Lifetime Achievement), Scoot (Eco-Airline of the Year), Jet2 (Value Airline of the Year), American Airlines (Force for Good, co-presented with Airlink nonprofit), Air Serbia (Airline Market Leader), Royal Jordanian CEO Samer Majali (Leadership Excellence), Cathay Cargo (Cargo Operator), Pittsburgh International Airport (Airport of the Year), Air France-Groupe ADP (Airline-Airport Partnership) and Saudia Airlines COO Suliaman Yaqoobi (Joseph S. Murphy Award).

The 52nd ATW Awards will be presented at a Gala dinner in Milan, Italy, on Thursday, December 10, 2026. The dinner will be held in conjunction with the CAPA World Airline Leader Summit 2026.

Lifetime Achievement recipient Peter Foster has recently retired from a long aviation career, most recently as CEO at Air Astana. Previous roles included executive posts at Cathay Pacific, Royal Brunei Airlines and Philippines Airlines. Foster said, “This is a tremendous honor and I am delighted to accept the Award on behalf of all the dedicated employees at Air Astana.”

Leadership Excellence recipient Samer Majali, CEO of Royal Jordanian, said, “It is a great honor to receive this award. Leading Royal Jordanian alongside an exceptional team is a privilege, and I proudly accept this recognition on behalf of the entire Royal Jordanian family.”
