“The temporary measure passed today by the House would provide needed continuity for federal transportation funding, ensuring that critical investments can continue through the midterm elections. However, the bill leaves $13.5 billion in highway and public transportation funding on the table by failing to extend support for all provisions of current law. As Congress pursues a long-term measure, it should, at a minimum, restore these funds as soon as possible. America’s economy depends on a safe, reliable, and modern transportation network, and federal investment levels must reflect that reality by growing to meet the nation’s needs.”
