Due to the significant increase in operational charges in Ghana, CMA CGM announced a Terminal Handling Charge (THC) will be implemented. As from July 20th, 2016, THC will be applicable to all import and export cargo from/to the ports of Tema and Takoradi, in addition to the ocean freight and payable in Ghana: USD 155 or EUR 140 per 20' USD 265 or EUR 240 per 40' All containers In compliance with local regulations in Ghana, THC is payable in GHS (Ghanaian Cedi) at the prevailing exchange rate and subject to published Government Tax. In line with this decision, the "Evacuation Fee" which was introduced recently to cover imbalance logistics costs will be cancelled from the implementation date of the THC.
