Munich Airport has opened a new chapter in its IT security activities. At a special ceremony today, the airport launched its Information Security Hub (ISH) – a competency center where IT specialists with the airport operating company (FMG) will work together with experts from the European aviation industry to develop strategies for defending against cyberattacks and new approaches to the fight against cybercrime.

Following the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey last year, severe damage to many animal rescue centres in Texas meant that hundreds of unfortunate pets had to be flown to new homes. One such charter transporting the cats and dogs was helped by superstar pitcher and recent World Series winner, Lance McCullers Jr. of the Houston Astros.

After becoming the first airline in the Americas to obtain the Center of Excellence of Independent Validators (CEIV) PHARMA certification from the International Aviation Transportation Agency (IATA), LATAM Cargo was also recently awarded with the CEIV PHARMA certification for its handling service in Miami.
Lufthansa Cargo has increased its freighter services to Japan and added two weekly freighters to Osaka, Japan (KIX). The additional flights complement the already existing daily freighter from and to Tokyo-Narita as well as the Lufthansa passenger flights to Osaka-Kansai, Tokyo-Haneda, and Nagoya.
