August 2020 North American transborder freight up 11% from July 2020

• Total Transborder freight: $93.4 billion of transborder freight moved by all modes of transportation, up 2.7% compared to July 2020 and up 13.9% from June 2020. • Transborder freight value in August was down 11.1% compared to August 2019. • Most-used mode: Trucks moved $60.9 billion of freight, up 0.2% compared to July 2020, down 7.9% compared to August 2019. • Second most-used mode: Railways moved $13.8 billion of freight, up 7.2% compared to July 2020, down 14.3% compared to August 2019.

Previously, BTS reported that the value of total Transborder freight in July 2020 was $91 billion, up 10.9% compared to June 2020 and up 62.2% from May 2020.

NTTC North American Safety Awards announced
