Port of Hueneme lands FEMA grant

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that the Port of Hueneme has been awarded $1.68 million in the Port Security Grant Program FY20 Funding Cycle. Aimed to achieve the goal of a secure and resilient nation, the funding will aid the Port in modernizing their security, including improvements to the main gate entrance, and upgrading the Port’s CCTV surveillance system with cutting-edge technology.

The Maritime Employers Association (MEA) has advised that the Longshoremen’s Union has filed another 72 hour notice of a strike commencing: Monday, August 3rd at 07:00 and ending on Friday, August 7th at 06:59. This strike will affect only Termont Terminal. MGT Terminals will continue to work normally. The situation remains fluid and may change at short notice. Callan Marine announces next state-of-the-art cutter suction dredge

Callan Marine of Galveston, Texas announced that a fifth cutter suction dredge (CSD), the General Bradley, will be added to the company’s fleet next year. The new dredge is a 28”, 341-foot long, diesel electric powered CSD with three ABC 12DCZ engines providing 9,260 total installed horsepower on board.
