Information for Thursday’s Port Authority Board of Commissioners Meeting

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will conduct its Feb. 13 Board meeting in-person at 4 World Trade Center. In-person meeting attendees are required to go through a security screening upon entering the building. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early. Security screening will begin at 12 p.m.

The shipping company Tallink Silja is strengthening its traffic between Estonia and Sweden by deploying a larger and more modern ship on the Kapellskär - Paldiski route. On 10 February, Star 1 made its first call at Port of Kapellskär, which means increased freight capacity and improved comfort for travelers.

Duferco Terminal Mediterraneo S.p.A. (DTM) is a subsidiary of Duferco Group, an Italian steel production, renewable energy and logistics conglomerate. The group is investing EUR 95 million to expand and electrify the Giammoro terminal as it aims to transform the entire area – including an adjacent steel plant – into a low-emission industrial hub for sustainable logistics and production.

Terminales Marítimas de Vigo, S.L.U. (Termavi), a new Konecranes customer has ordered two hybrid Konecranes Rubber-Tired Gantry (RTG) cranes equipped with the complete range of Konecranes Smart Features. The order was booked in Q4 2024 and delivery is scheduled for Q4 2025.

Galveston Wharves Board supports cruise growth, updated master plan

As the nation’s 4th-ranked cruise port, Galveston saw a record 3.4 million passenger movements through its three terminals in 2024. It will open its fourth cruise terminal in November to homeport MSC and Norwegian cruise lines. This year, the port forecasts more than 400 sailings and almost 3.6 million passenger embarkations and debarkations.
