• The furniture industry is one of the most dynamic in the Valencian Community: 1,619 companies are dedicated to the manufacture of furniture and foreign sales have resulted in 159 million euros in the first quarter of 2022. Going abroad is key for this sector
• In the last 12 months, the Port Authority of Valencia (APV) has managed 9,253 export containers (144 million tonnes calculating the weight of the cargo) of Valencian and Spanish furniture.
• The connectivity of Valenciaport has allowed to boost the export of the furniture industry and place it in 120 countries around the world, with competitive costs largely due to the proximity of the factories to the Valencian docks.
• One of the main production areas is the "furniture triangle" (Betetússer-Alfafar-Sedaví), which considers the port area as an extension of its facilities: it is a dozen kilometres away.
• Among the main importing countries of local furniture are the United States (1,138 TEUs), Saudi Arabia (487 TEUs), Mexico (267 TEUs) and Israel (205 TEUs).
• The Caribbean, South Asia and the Gulf of Guinea are some of the regions that have mobilised the most containers.
• Thanks to Valenciaport, the furniture industry reaches such far-flung places in the world as Martinique (33 TEUs), Malaysia (5 TEUs) and New Caledonia (3 TEUs).
