In 2014, Choptank Transport teamed up with the Mid-Atlantic Sales & Marketing Institute (MASMI) at the Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University to create a new academic program.  Under the umbrella of the Mid-Atlantic Sales and Marketing Institute (MASMI), the series of courses were specifically tailored to students interested in a career in sales. The program has been a huge success, with more than 270 students enrolled since its inception three years ago. As a co-founder and lead sponsor, Choptank was named as the first three-year patron, establishing the program’s name as the Choptank Transport Annual Sales Program.  This week, the company renewed its commitment as the platinum sponsor of the program for another three years. As part of the sponsorship, students get access to Choptank training materials and also some get to spend a day at Choptank’s headquarters as part of their Intern-for-a-day program.  “We value our relation with Salisbury’s Perdue School of Business,” said Geoff Turner, president/CEO of Choptank.  “Education and training have been cornerstones of our business’s success and I am happy to say we’ve been able to employ quite a few bright and amazing sales people from the program.  We hope other businesses in the community have benefitted from this program as well.”  “Choptank has been the perfect friend and partner of the MASMI sales program,” said Dr. Amit Poddar, director of the Mid-Atlantic Sales & Marketing Institute. “With their help we were able to become only the 24th university in the country to become accredited by the University Sales Center Alliance as well as named as a top sales program by the Sales Education Foundation. This is not only a gift to the sales program, but a gift to all businesses on the Delmarva peninsula.”
