CMA CGM Group with its Corporate Foundation are announced the launch of its skills-based sponsorship program. On the occasion of the CSR days, which took place last week, CMA CGM Group decided to propose to its collaborators at its headquarters in Marseilles to put their skills at the service of humanitarian actions. As a genuine and responsible engagement supporting children and people in need, this initiative allows CMA CGM to confirm its societal engagement.

Skills-based sponsorships: The Group and its collaborators engage for associations

As part of the skills-based sponsorship program, a group of CMA CGM collaborators based in Marseilles will have the chance to engage alongside a partner association, on their worktime and paid by the Group. They are thus encouraged to apply in order to participate in this program.

Many associations need technical, administrative, organizational or support expertise. Collaborators of the Group will hence contribute to these associations’ development in the domains of:

  • Homework support,
  • Events organization,
  • Implementation of interactive digital tools,
  • Advices on stability and storage capacities of ships.

Other skills might be required depending on their particular needs.

Four local associations selected, already supported by the CMA CGM Foundation

Launched as part of the first CSR Days of the Group which took place this week at the Tower in Marseilles, this skills-based sponsorship program will allow collaborators to put their expertise at the service of four associations based in Marseilles:

  • “Relais Enfants-Parents” works on maintaining communication and links between imprisoned parents and their children,
  • “Ecole des XV” works on school dropout
  • “SOS Méditerranée” rescues migrants in the Mediterranean Sea
  • “Le Secours Populaire” fights poverty since 1945

This initiative is totally embedded in the Group’s action towards local associations through the Foundation. In 2017, the CMA CGM Foundation helped 3,200 children in Marseilles and in Lebanon through its call to projects.

On the occasion of the launch of these partnerships, Executive Officer and Foundation’s Vice-President Tanya Saadé Zeenny declared: “For the past 40 years, CMA CGM has been conveying humane, family and entrepreneurial values that made it possible for the Group to become a reference in the shipment industry. Today we reinforce our social footprint by allowing our collaborators to put their expertise at the service of humanitarian associations. With the skills-based sponsorship program, CMA CGM confirms its responsible engagement for genuine and humane initiatives already supported by the CMA CGM Foundation”.
