Currently, one manager and three employees are serving customers out of the 1,600-square-foot facility, with plans to have between 12 and 15 employees on staff by the end of 2012.
'Establishing a presence in Bentonville aligns perfectly with our growth goals as a company, allowing us to build and expand relationships with strategic customers and their suppliers,' said Tommy Barnes, president, Con-way Multimodal. 'This location provides access to graduates of the University of Arkansas, which offers one of the most prestigious logistics programs in the country, and brokers with greater experience in both flatbed and refrigerated ' two transportation modes we're looking to build and expand. Overall, there are more brokerage companies in Northwest Arkansas than in many larger regions ' it was critical for us to gain visibility there. '
In addition to providing customers with access to third-party carrier services, Con-way Multimodal customers can also take advantage of synergies with Menlo Worldwide Logistics and its sister companies, Con-way Freight and Con-way Truckload.
