TNW Corporation, a privately held operator of short line railroads and logistics centers, recently expanded railcar service offerings on its Texas North Western Railway (TXNW) line in Sunray, Texas, in partnership with The Andersons, Inc. Rail business.

With over seventy years in business, The Andersons is a diversified agribusiness specializing in commodity trading, ethanol, plant nutrient, and railcar leasing and repair. TNW Corporation is a thirty-nine-year Texas transportation logistics provider and owns the largest private storage facility in North America at the TXNW Railway. The expansion in services will provide rail customers more comprehensive offerings in:

  • Railcar Cleaning and Flaring
  • Full-Service Repair Shop for Tank Cars and Hoppers
  • Railcar Storage (storage capacity of 11,000 cars)
  • Class 1 interchange (BNSF)

The Repair shop will provide general AAR and FRA repairs, as well as HM-216 Tank Car Qualification and will carry an M-1002 Certification.

When asked about the expansion, TNW Vice President of Marketing and Sales Wade Hoffmann said, “TNW and The Andersons understand the importance for shippers and leasing companies who are looking to combine railcar cleaning, repairs, and storage in one location to effectively manage their fleet. The partnership with The Andersons elevates the level of service we will provide to our customers.”

Vice President of The Andersons Rail business Sam Anderson commented, “Investments into the repair infrastructure on TXNW allow us to provide a full-suite of tank car repair services, including tank car certifications. The shop is adjacent to the TXNW storage yard, and we believe the geographical location, Class 1 connection, and strong partnership with TNW Corporation will add significant value to our customers.”
