Frankfurt Airport (FRA) welcomed approximately 6.0 million passengers in September 2025 – a 2.2 percent increase compared to the same month in 2024. With summer school vacations ongoing until mid-September in the neighboring German states of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, traditional leisure destinations continued to see high demand. As Germany’s gateway to the world, FRA exceeded the 200,000-passenger mark on 16 days in September. During the first nine months of the year, Frankfurt recorded a cumulative total figure of around 47.6 million passengers, up 1.8 percent on the equivalent period in 2024.
Cargo throughput in Frankfurt, comprising airfreight and airmail, edged up by 0.6 percent year-on-year to 170,505 metric tons in September 2025. Aircraft movements climbed by 5.5 percent to 41,997 takeoffs and landings. Accumulated maximum takeoff weights (MTOWs) were around 2.5 million metric tons, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.9 percent.

The total number of passengers across all airports actively managed by Fraport rose to around 20.5 million in September 2025, up 5.3 percent compared to the same month last year.
