FREEPORT, TX  – During the June 13th regular Port Commission Meeting, Commissioners unanimously elected Shane Pirtle Chairman of the Port Commission. Paul Kresta will serve as the Port Commission Vice Chairman.  The other officers are as follows: Rudy Santos, Port Commission Secretary; John Hoss, Port Commission Assistant Secretary; Ravi Singhania, Port Commissioner and Dan Croft, Port Commissioner. 

Shane Pirtle has served on the Port Commission since 2011 and most recently held the position of Secretary of the board.  Pirtle retired from The Dow Chemical Company after 30 years of service and is a registered Professional Engineer in Control Systems.  Pirtle served six years as mayor for the City of Lake Jackson and one year as a city council member.  Among his many civic activities, Pirtle is an active board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Brazoria County and is also involved in The Economic Alliance of Brazoria County, Brazosport Chamber of Commerce, Bay Area Council Boy Scouts, and BACH.  Shane and his wife, Linda, have three children, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

The Freeport Harbor Channel serves BASF, Chiquita Fresh N.A., CMA CGM, Dole Fresh Fruit, The Dow Chemical Company, Freeport LNG, Hoegh Autoliners. Horizon Terminal Services, Mammoet, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), Phillips 66, Riviana Foods, Inc., Seaway Crude Pipeline Company, Sallaum Lines, Tenaris, and Vulcan Materials Company.
