Gebrüder Weiss takes over Koler, Kuhn & Merk Speditions Ges.m.b.H (KK+M) in Reutte (Tyrol/Austria). The purchase agreement was signed on August 27 and applied retroactively to January 1, 2019. “Acquiring the freight forwarder KK+M in Reutte enables us to cover another important region in Tyrol and southern Germany for our customers. We will retain all the employees and would like to continue expanding there,” says Hannes Mayr, Regional Manager West at Gebrüder Weiss. KK+M and Gebrüder Weiss have a long-standing partnership. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Full-service logistics from the Alps
KK+M has 57 years of freight forwarding experience and is firmly established in Tyrol. With ten employees, the company offers a full range of logistics services, including land transport, air and sea freight, customs, removal and parcel services.
The company was up for sale because the owner, Dietmar Koler, would like to retire and has no successor. The takeover means that Gebrüder Weiss safeguards the continued existence of the traditional Tyrolean Company. Dietmar Koler will continue to be on hand to support the company as a consultant.
A Gebrüder Weiss branch by 2020
KK+M will continue operating under its previous name until the end of 2019. As of January 1, 2020, the freight forwarder will be run as the Gebrüder Weiss subsidiary Reutte and report to the branch Hall in Tyrol branch. There are plans to make further investments in the Reutte location in the medium term. Together with its locations in Innsbruck, Hall and Wörgl, Gebrüder Weiss now has four locations in Tyrol employing a total of around 300 people.
