Harris has been named general chairman and treasurer, during the American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council’s Annual Meeting; in addition, he was honored with the Silver Sparkplug Award.

“Jeff is a wonderful leader and person. The TMC could not have chosen a better candidate to lead their organization at this critical time in our industry’s evolution. As a well-rounded veteran of the industry, Harris is currently serving his 2nd three-year term on the TMC Board of Directors and received the Silver Spark Plug Award. “When they began introducing the recipients, the speaker announced the year I began, and I started putting all the pieces together. I was totally surprised” Harris said. The award is TMC’s highest honor and is given in recognition of an individual’s exceptional contributions to the cause of improving heavy-duty vehicle maintenance.

In 2013 he was elected to the Board of Directors. “I was Chairman of the S.4 Cab and controls for three years and had to give that up when I was elected to the TMC Board of Directors,” said Harris, “Being recognized like this by my peers in TMC is a tremendous honor.”
