Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha ("K" LINE) has released an update outlining its FY2026 financial outlook and progress under its Medium-Term Management Plan, including a higher return on equity (ROE) target and continued focus on strengthening its core shipping businesses.

The update, released through a video presentation made available on the company's website, reviews financial results announced in May 2026 and outlines strategic priorities that will guide the development of K LINE's next Medium-Term Management Plan.

Among the key changes, the company said it plans to increase its ROE target from more than 10% under the current plan to 15% or higher, a level it said exceeds the industry average. K LINE also reaffirmed its objective of maintaining a price-to-book ratio (PBR) above 1.0 times as part of its broader effort to enhance corporate value.

The strategy update outlines several priorities designed to support those financial objectives, including growth initiatives across the company's core businesses, measures to address challenges within its containership segment and continued implementation of its capital allocation strategy.

According to K LINE, the presentation also reviews progress made under the current Medium-Term Management Plan through its capital policy, business strategy and functional strategy initiatives.

Originally distributed through the company's internal communication platform, K LINE With, the presentation has been made publicly available as part of an effort to provide investors and other stakeholders with greater visibility into the company's long-term strategy and financial objectives.

Company officials said the initiative is intended to strengthen communication across K LINE's global organization while also increasing transparency for customers, shareholders and the broader maritime industry.
