Lincoln Property Company Southeast (Lincoln) today unveils plans for Bloomingdale Trade Center, a 482,350-square-foot distribution center set to break ground just outside of Savannah, Georgia in September 2023. Lincoln Senior Vice President Denton Shamburger, Vice President Turner Fortin and Leasing Associate Colin Beecham are overseeing construction, marketing and leasing of the facility, which is expected to deliver in Q4 2024.
The Class-A distribution center and logistics facility will sit on Bloomingdale Road off Jimmy Deloach Parkway, just 12 miles away from the Port of Savannah. It will feature 36-foot clearance heights, 80 dock-high doors, 121 trailer parking spaces, 266 auto parking and dedicated tenant amenity areas. The site is two miles from I-16, seven miles from I-95 and offers quick access to the nearby city of Savannah.
In 2022, the Georgia Ports Authority achieved a milestone by managing 5.9 million twenty-foot equivalent container units, marking a five percent growth compared to 2021. The Georgia Ports Authority's national market share has now reached an all-time high, now handling one out of every 8.8 loaded twenty-foot equivalent container units in the United States. Hyundai recently celebrated the first shipment of equipment needed for its new Metaplant, which will be located on 3,000 acres in Bryan County and is expected to be the state’s largest economic investment project, producing between 300,000 to 500,000 cars annually.
Lincoln’s industrial team is also heavily involved in the state of Georgia, completing nearly 15 projects totaling over four million square feet in the last five years within the state. This project will be Lincoln’s first in the Savannah market, a market it foresees continuing to invest in. Lincoln also manages over seven million square feet of industrial product in the Savannah area for multiple clients.
