Rolling Strong platform enhancements and a new gamification experience incentivize users to improve their health and make better lifestyle choices

Riverside, Mo. - Rolling Strong, the provider of driver wellness programs for transportation companies and their drivers, as well as owner-operators, today announced at the American Trucking Associations 2018 Management Conference & Exhibition several enhancements to its health and wellness platform, including a new gamification experience for achieving health objectives and making better lifestyle choices.

“Due to strong demand among carriers, we’ve enhanced our platform’s gamification capability to foster interaction between trucking companies and their drivers, and to motivate everyone to achieve beneficial wellness objectives,” said Stephen Kane, president of Rolling Strong. “With this customizable gamification and rewards approach, carriers can incentivize drivers and other groups in the company, such as operations, HR, safety and executive management personnel, to improve their health. The result is an improvement in health and wellness for everyone in their operation as well as better safety performance and a reduction in driver turnover.”

The newly enhanced gamification capability in the Rolling Strong health and wellness platform allows companies to set criteria, create competitions and invite drivers and other employees to participate. Users earn points that can be used for rewards for completing health screenings and exercise routines, meeting calorie targets, staying hydrated and getting proper sleep. They can also access a wide range of tools to help them manage weight, blood pressure and glucose, and to make healthier lifestyle choices. The solution integrates with Apple, Fitbit, Garmin, Polar, Samsung and other biometric collectors.

Other enhancements to the Rolling Strong platform include providing for a new approach to annual biometric screenings. In place of traditional in-house, on-site programs, drivers now have anywhere, anytime access to screening sites across a nationwide network through partnerships and integrations with eTrueNorth, higi Health Stations located across the country in 11,000 retail locations and national pharmacy providers. Users simply redeem a voucher in the Rolling Strong platform and make a screening appointment. Using a HIPAA compliant process, results are stored in a personal and protected health portal.

As users choose to share their information with Rolling Strong’s CDL trained wellness coaches, they can also get mobile or live support through the platform to help maintain their health and prepare for DOT physicals. Additionally, they can access other services from such support partners such as Enrollment First, and can engage with each other in the Rolling Strong social network to exchange ideas and share achievements.

The Rolling Strong health and wellness platform now has a redesigned, intuitive user interface for a more functional and better experience. The platform is available in an app for IOS and Android mobile devices as well as in-cab computing systems. Carriers that have been testing the newly enhanced Rolling Strong health and wellness platform, and that are scheduled to deploy it to users in their operations, include Bennett Transportation Group, Highway Transportation, Fremont Contract Carriers, Sherwin Williams, Herman Transportation and Greyhound Bus Lines.

“We have spent the past year looking closely at how to take the effectiveness of traditional transportation-specific health and wellness programs and make them scalable through technology but equally appealing to drivers and carriers,” Kane said. “Our team pulled out all the stops in building and enhancing our platform so it delivers an effective solution for the industry. As a driver and business traveler for the last 29 years, and as an actual user over the last six months, I have seen the effects of that effort firsthand. I am down 35 lbs and back to jogging an average of 20 miles per week. This program really works.”
