Mercator Media Ltd has confirmed that, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 23rd edition of Seawork and sister event the M&CCE Expo will now be held 15-17 June 2021. This also affects and applies to Speed@Seawork, now to be held 14 June 2021.
Andrew Webster, Chief Executive of Mercator Media Ltd, explained the decision, “Given the restrictions on travel and the effects that social distancing requirements will have on the operation of the exhibition, the team at Mercator Media has been examining alternatives and seeking the opinion of clients. There is also the added uncertainty surrounding further possible government actions and restrictions, both here in the UK and abroad. We would all prefer that this was not the case, but in the circumstances, we believe rescheduling to 2021 is now the best option for exhibitors and visitors.”
Looking forward, Andrew continued, “We are fortunate to have Maritime Journal to allow us all to keep in touch with content and the latest developments in commercial marine. We are also making improvements to the year-round free press service for exhibitors, Seawork eNews and website in order that exhibitors and visitors can get the most out of their relationship with this long-established exhibition.”
Andrew concluded, “Exhibitors, delegates and visitors return to Seawork again and again, and we are conscious that there will be real disappointment at people not being able to exhibit and attend in 2020. Everyone on the Seawork team is sorry not to be meeting up with clients and visitors in person at Seawork this year. We regret that we have had to make this decision but believe that this course of action is the best alternative in the face of the effects of COVID-19. We look forward to 2021.”
