The Lufthansa Cargo Center in Frankfurt, occupying more than 100,000 square metres of floor space, employs around 1,300 staff handling airfreight at Lufthansa Cargo's central hub. About 80 per cent of the tonnage, which Lufthansa Cargo ships, worldwide, passes through Frankfurt.
'Dr. Mohammed Ali Seiraffi, an experienced Cargo-Lufthanseat, is taking over as head of our principal logistics center,' said Dr. Karl-Rudolf Rupprecht. 'At the Lufthansa Cargo Center, we are further pursuing our policy of continuously raising quality by modernising the base comprehensively to meet the future requirements and challenges of the airfreight industry.'
Dr. Mohammed Ali Seiraffi, with a PhD in Engineering, has been a member of Lufthansa cargo's management team since 2002, latterly as head of handling in Munich and Leipzig, the airline's two other major hubs along with Frankfurt. From 2004 to 2008, he was Managing Director of Jettainer GmbH, the globally active specialist in ULD management and a subsidiary of Lufthansa Cargo.
