Everett, Wash. – On February 9, 2016, the Port of Everett Commission directed staff to proceed with the acquisition of the Kimberly-Clark property within the vicinity of 26th Street and West Marine View Drive to support maritime port purposes. The authorization provides staff the flexibility of reaching a purchase and sale agreement through negotiated means, but also reserves the Port’s legal authority to acquire the property for public purposes with payment of just compensation. The Port of Everett is committed to cooperatively working with Kimberly-Clark to agree on a purchase and sale agreement that is mutually beneficial to both parties.
