Building upon its extensive expertise in the Maintenance of Way (MOW) services sector, RailWorks Corp., North America’s leading rail infrastructure solutions provider, has launched a mobile flash-butt welding service division, creating a comprehensive slate of services for its Class I, short line, and transit customers.
RailWorks has acquired more than 40 specialized mobile welding trucks, which are used to weld rail together for mainline and special track work areas, and highly skilled operators to be deployed across the United States and Canada. With this additional service, RailWorks will now offer complete turn-key services for joint elimination work, rail gang work, and cut & slide rail projects.
“The combination of the state-of-the-art equipment and the talented operators of the machines will allow RailWorks to expand its portfolio of specialty services throughout North America,” said Kevin Riddett, RailWorks President and CEO.
The RailWorks Maintenance of Way portfolio of services is designed to help customers maximize their rail maintenance investment. Services include geometry testing, rail grinding, undercutting, thermite welding, and brush cutting, among others.
