Diversified services provider cuts administrative costs by enabling MacroPoint advanced load tracking capability CLEVELAND, OH - MacroPoint, creator of patented freight tracking software designed to give shippers, brokers, 3PLs and carriers real-time visibility into load status, today announced that by enabling its load tracking software Reserve Management Group is reducing its administrative and management costs by $15,000 per month. “MacroPoint is saving us administrative time every month by giving us complete visibility into the location of all of our freight in real-time,” said Scott Joseph, vice president at Reserve Management Group. “It also improves productivity in our operation because the load tracking solution enables us to plan ahead by reallocating equipment and personnel if there’s an issue with a shipment.” Reserve Management Group (RMG), headquartered in Twinsburg, Ohio, is a family of distinct but related businesses involved in recycling, scrap metal, electronics and plastic processing, material handling, equipment sales and purchasing, and property management. Formed in 1991, the company has operations in Ohio, Illinois, New York, Wisconsin, Florida, Alabama and Georgia. RMG chose MacroPoint to track shipments and proactively address issues, Joseph noted. “For 95 percent of our loads, we were never updated about a shipment location,” he said. “In the other five percent, we would only be called when an issue arose, and in the majority of those instances it was after the fact. By managing issues proactively with MacroPoint we can also improve customer service by notifying them of changes in pick up or delivery schedules.” To address its load tracking needs and resolve problems, RMG enabled MacroPoint patented freight tracking software. Designed to give shippers, brokers, 3PLs and carriers real-time visibility into load status, the load location solution provides arrival and departure notification and out-of-route monitoring by tracking the location of a driver’s mobile phone or existing in-cab ELD/GPS devices. “We are pleased that our freight tracking solution’s ability to provide complete visibility into load locations in real time is saving money, improving operational productivity and enhancing customer service for RMG,” said Dave Halsema, executive vice president of MacroPoint.
