Scanlog, a Scandinavian logistics company specializing in international transports, announced today that they will integrate ShipChain’s blockchain-based Track and Trace Platform into their global logistics network. Scanlog and ShipChain, which were introduced by the Swedish data company EnigioTime, will use ShipChain’s technology to monitor up to a dozen Scanlog trucks by the end of the year as the first phase of their collaboration.

“Our customers expect us to deliver their physical goods on time and in perfect condition, but this is only one part of our job as international transport specialists. Today the flow of information connected to the physical supply chain is of such magnitude, and such importance that it requires advanced process management to deal with it timely and accurately,” said Scanlog CEO Mattias Ljungberg. “Scanlog has since the inception of the company six years ago been focused on using the latest technology to assist our co-workers with this task. The agreement with ShipChain is the newest example of our dedication to using state-of-the-art technology to create customer value, and I am very much looking forward to working closely with ShipChain to deepen our partnership further.”
Specifically, ShipChain will install their GPS enabled cellular devices, known as Axle Gateways, into the main cab of multiple Scanlog-associated participant vehicles over the next few months. The Axle Gateway device will post encrypted GPS data to the Scanlog on-site storage location and will generate a unique signature of the data that will be posted to the Ethereum blockchain. Access to data gathered on the ShipChain Platform will be available for Scanlog’s analysis.
By tracking their deliveries, Scanlog will be able to identify steps to make their entire global shipping network more efficient and effective – reducing overall costs and strengthening their offerings.
“ShipChain’s advanced blockchain-based logistics visibility system perfectly fits with Scanlog’s supply chain, providing visibility to Scanlog and its clients along the full journey of a shipment,” said ShipChain CEO John Monarch. “We are excited to be entering the European market, and with Scanlog’s reach and volume of shipments, and our technology, we see the prospects of this collaboration as beneficial all around.”
Founded in 2013, Scanlog has offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, and Oxelösund, and works with a global network of partners to ensure cargo reaches its destination safely. Scanlog offers forwarding services across all transportation modes, and is a leader in responsible logistics, striving to minimize the environmental impact of every shipment.
ShipChain was founded on the mission of solving the greatest problems facing the logistics industry today. Their solution requires deep technology, but the vision is simple: a fully integrated system across the entire supply chain. From the moment a project leaves the factory, field, or farm, to delivering the finished product to the customer’s doorstep; federated in trustless, transparent blockchain contracts.
