Effective August 5, 2019, the US government imposed sanctions that prohibit accepting cargo to/from any entity owned or controlled by the Venezuelan government, in addition to the entities already on the OFAC Specially Designated Nationals list.
To ensure compliance with the mentioned sanctions, Sealand - A Maersk Company requires the following when shipping to/from Venezuela:
- Both Shipper and Consignee must be indicated at time of booking request
- Complete shipping instructions are mandatory within the documentation deadline
Cargo will not be loaded unless the above requirements are met in full.
