The purpose of the signed Memorandums is the creation of joint transport products within the implementation of the project of multimodal transportations between China and Europe.

Vienna - Memorandums of Strategic Cooperation were signed between JSC United Transport and Logistics Company and Kaliningrad Railway – branch of JSC Russian Railway with JSC Kaliningrad Sea Trading Port, LLC Baltic Stevedore Company. Also, Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation was signed between UTLC, Kaliningrad Railway, LLC Baltic Stevedore Company and the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rosmorport. The documents were signed by Aleksei Grom, the President of UTLC, Viktor Golomolzin, the Head of Kaliningrad Railway, Vladimir Lavrenchuk, the First Deputy Director General of JSC Kaliningrad Sea Trading Port, Sultan Bytov, the Director General of LLC Baltic Stevedore Company, and Sergei Pylin, the Director of the North-Western Basin Branch of the FSUE Rosmorport.

According to Aleksei Grom, the President of JSC United Transport and Logistics Company, in 2018 the company plans to increase the scope of cargo transportations on the route China – Europe – China, including through Kaliningrad region. Taking into account the existing infrastructure restrictions at the intersection with the railways of the European Union, one of the most important directions in the development of transit services is the implementation of the project of multimodal container transportations through the ports of Kaliningrad region.

Joint efforts of all the participants of the project will allow the creation of a new corridor on the Eurasian transit route, as well as offering a new transport and logistics product competitive as of time and cost.

Port, sea and railway are getting united to create new products aimed at the development of transit in general”, Aleksei Grom, the President of UTLC, commented.
