Sep 30 - Oct 6 - Spot market demand cooled in the first week of October compared to the end of September, when there was urgency to move freight before the close of Q3. That contributed to looser capacity, as shown by the lower load-to-truck ratios, but the national average van rate rose 2¢ compared to the September average. The national flatbed rate fell 3¢, while the average reefer rate held steady. Visit DAT Trendlines to see the full report.
